Meeting With The Wedding Photographer…

We had an in-person meeting with the first wedding photographer that I liked online. I wasn’t too impressed in person but assumed it may be difficult to say no at this point and well, I hate confrontation. However, the photographer made it as pain free as possible by making it easy for us to get to know her, ask her any questions and by giving us a few tips of her own.

She informed us that on our wedding day, it is less stressful to have the wedding photographer take the wedding pictures of the bride and groom prior to the wedding ceremony so the bridal party and wedding guests don’t have to wait to have their picture taken with the bride and groom. Although this makes sense, I am adamant that I will not see Adrian until the wedding ceremony starts.

It was a good thing we took my future mother and father-in-law with us because they were able to help us filter through what was advice and what was marketing. Adrian was also asking questions that I never would have thought of and we were getting a lot more information than I anticipated, a notebook was in dire need. When it was over, we had all of the information regarding our wedding pictures that we needed and of course, I learned a lot.

Wedding Photographer Meeting Tips

1. Always meet with your wedding photographer before booking them for your wedding. You need to know if you will get along with them and if their vision coincides with how you envision your wedding pictures.

2. If possible, always bring an extra set of ears, aside from your fiancés, to any meeting you will have during the wedding planning stages. You may not always hear what you think you’re hearing and it makes it a lot easier to say no to any wedding vendors.

3. Be prepared to take notes! You’d be surprised how many details are involved in taking wedding pictures and it’s best to write everything down.  If necessary, buy a notebook with added folders for business cards or purchase a wedding planning guide at any local bookstore.

I am thankful that Adrian’s parents went with us to meet with the wedding photographer, it helped us sort out a lot of details and I walked away feeling confident that our wedding pictures will turn out amazing.  Overall, it was another productive and successful wedding planning meeting.  Thanks for following my journey…until next time!
